Jenn’s Book Haul – June

This post is really my cry for help. Hi, I’m Jenn and I have a book buying problem. I cannot control myself when it comes to book shopping. It is my go to destress activity. However, my wallet is not too happy about it. This post is going to list all of the books I’ve bought this month.  I didn’t realize quite how many books I acquired this month until I put them all together. I went a little crazy. So, I can’t go into detail with all of the books. But, I’m going to talk about some of my favorites. Without further ado here are all of the books I acquired this month.

  1. Eleanor & Park by: Rainbow Rowell
    • I’ve already read this book and it is adorable. If you haven’t read it I would reccomend it.
  2. Everything, Everything by Nicola Joon
    • I’ve also read this one. You can read my thoughts on it here.
  3. Ignite Me by: Tahereh Mafi
    • How do I not already own this series? I’m not sure. But, I absolutely adore this series.
  4. The Walls Around Us by: Nova Ren Suma
    • This is a total cover buy. Guilty as charged.
  5. The Rose & The Dagger by: Renee Ahdieh
  6. Every Day by: David Leviathan
  7. My True Love Gave To Me by: Stephenie Perkins
  8. Linger by: Maggie Stiefvater
    • I still haven’t found Shiver in hardcover so I haven’t started the series. But, I am a huge fan of Stiefvater and I’m excited to start it.
  9. Miss Mayhem by: Rachel Hawkins
  10. Ruin and Rising by: Leigh Bardugo
    • I have to continue the Grisha trilogy. I just have to.
  11. Siege and Storm by: Leigh Bardugo
    • Can the Darkling live up to Kaz of Six of Crows? Guess we’ll find out.
  12. Firefight by: Brandon Sanderson
  13. Landline by: Rainbow Rowell
  14. I’ll Give You the Sun by: Jandy Nelson
  15. The Girl You Left Behind by: Jojo Moyes

  1. Red Rising by: Pierce Brown
    • I bought this one so that this series would be matching. This is one of my favorite series of all time. If you haven’t read it yet. You have to start now.
  2. The Wicked & The Divine Vol 1 by: Kieron Gillen
    • Total cover buys. I actualy had already bought the second volume of this series without realizing that it wasn’t the first one.
  3. The Wicked & The Divine Vol 2 by: Kieron Gillen
  4. The Bane Chronicles by: Cassandra Clare
    • I’m weary about this one. I love Magnus but I’m not sure if I’ll love this book. But, it was discounted so I may as well give it a try.
  5. The Young World by: Chris Weitz
  6. Gathering Darkness by: Morgan Rhodes
  7. Morning Star by: Pierce Brown
    • Caitlynn and I found a signed copy of this book at Books-A-Million and I had to buy it.
  8. Silver Shadows by: Richelle Mead
    • Another signed copy found at Books-A-Million. This one was actually only $3 since it was a “bargain” book.
  9. Stars Above by: Marissa Meyer
  10. The Raven King by: Maggie Stiefvater
    • I had to have this book to marathon the Raven Cycle. I am on the second book in the series and I can’t get enough. Eden wrote a review for The Raven Boys here.
  11. Side Effects May Vary by: Julie Murphy
  12. Tumble & Fall by: Alexandra Coutts
  13. Fire by: Kristin Cashore
    • Do I really want to continue the Graceling series? I’m not sure. But, it was cheap so I thought I might as well.
  14. The Duel by: Judith St. George
    • My obsession with Alexander Hamilton know’s no bounds. When I saw this on bookoutlet.com I knew I had to have it.
  15. The Queen of the Tearling by: Erika Johansen
    • It’s just beautiful. This was a complete and utter cover buy. I’m not ashamed.
  16. The Looking Glass Wars by: Frank Beddor

So, have you read any of the books on my list? What did you think about them? What books did you get this month? Let me know in the comments below.

  1. I just just bought Steelheart by Brandon Sanderson so I cant wait to see what you thought about the second book in the series. I have seen Red Rising everywhere and I cant believe I still dont know what its about!

    1. I haven’t read Steelheart yet actually! 🙊 Haha. But I saw the second one and had to snatch it up so I don’t have toward once o do. Lol.

Omg. I don’t even know how to describe Red Rising. Fantastical, sci-fi, dystopian maybe? Haha. But it is amazing. Definitely check it out.

And I’d love to see what you think about Steelheart. I love Sanderson so I have high hopes.

  2. There is no such thing as a book buying problem, just a lack of shelfs problem. I ended up with 11 new books this month but yet I only bought 5 of them and those were only 2.50 all together because they were purchased from my library’s book store. Most of my haul this month were books for review.

  3. All the props for buying books based on their covers, especially when they’re as amazing as the WicDiv ones. I’ve been meaning to read that for a long time; I’ve been a fan oftheirs Gillen and McKelvie’s for ages. There’s just too many things to read, though (which doesn’t get any better if you can’t stop buying books…)

    1. Aren’t they gorgeous?! I’m so excited to read them.

Yes exactly! It’s a never ending TBR I suppose. Which is definitely not the worst problem to have.

      1. You say that, but you haven’t seen my TBR shelf. 😉 I feel like I’m just a couple of purchases shy of being cast on Hoarders</i.
