Inside-Out Book Tag

I have been having a difficult time sitting down and reading lately. I don’t think it has anything to do with a reading slump, it’s just that my life has been incredibly busy these last couple weeks. I’m currently reading Flamecaster and it’s seriously an awesome book and when I finally drag myself to my library to sit down and read I truly enjoy reading the  book.

With that said, since I have no book review (and I was really hoping to do a Flamecaster review today!) I perused the WordPress community for a fun book tag to do and came across GettingThroughAnxiety’s blog with this awesome Inside-Out book tag below!

I: Inside Flap / Back of Book Summaries. Too much info? Or not enough? Discuss!

I think it is the perfect amount of information; however, for me I hardly ever read the synopsis of a book before I buy it. I am a review freak, if a book has high (or a lot) of reviews I’m going to give it a shot! There are far too many books that I have read recently that I never would have picked up based on the cover summaries or synopsis that are some of my favorite books right now (I’m looking at you Throne of Glass).

N: New Book. Be Honest: Which format do you want it in? Audio, hardcover, paperback, or ebook?

I have to go hardback for this one. They are just too beautiful not to pass up for me! Plus I love the surprise of how the under the cover is going to look!

S: Scribble While You Read? Do you write in your books, or keep them clean? Tell us why.

No writing for me! I don’t even tab my books for favorite lines or anything. Which I totally should, it would definitely make our weekly book club discussions much easier!

I: In Your Best Written Voice Read Us Your Favorite First Sentence From a Book.

Eden, Jenn, and I just played the guess the first line of a book game and it was so much fun and awesome to see how many we actually did know!

One line that really stuck with me was from Red Rising:

I would have lived in peace. But my enemies brought me war.

Pierce Brown is a genius and I love everything about the Red Rising series, this first line just set the stage for the rest of the amazing books.

D: Does It Matter to You Whether the Author is Male or Female when Deciding to Read a Book? What if you’re unsure of author’s gender?

It definitely does not matter to me, half the time I don’t even know whether the author is even male or female if I’m at all honest… I don’t think it matters at all to me who the author is, what ethnicity, gender, or age as long as they write a great book.

E: Ever Read Ahead? Or have you read the last page before you got there?

Definitely not! I don’t want to know until I get there especially since I hardly ever see it coming. I’m such a gullible reader.

O: Organized Bookshelves or Outrageous Bookshelves?

Based on my bookshelves, I would say organized. Honestly though, I find all bookshelves very pleasing to look at no matter how they are arranged or what is on them.

U: Under Oath: Have You Ever Bought a Book Based On the Cover? … The Cover Alone?

Definitely all the time! I haven’t had a book that I regret buying since I started buying physical books over this past year. I still try to stay in my comfort zone of genres so that I know it’s less likely for me to come across a book that I absolutely cannot get into.

T: Take it Outside or Stay In?

I’m definitely a stay inside person. Until it gets quite a bit cooler here in Florida, there isn’t anything fun for me to do outside in the summer time in Florida without either a pool or lots and lots of sweat, no thank you!

This was a fun, quick book tag and if you found it interesting take a stab at it! The questions are a little different than the normal book tag questions which I really enjoy.

Have a great week!
