Popular Books I Haven’t Read Tag

Hello and welcome to another post in which Jenn admits she has a problem. What’s the problem this time? There’s just too many books that I want to read at one time! Typically this is not a bad problem to have. However, this also means that at times I end up being very late to the party on some books. In this post I’m going to compile a list of 5 popular books that I have not read.

A Darker Shade final for Irene

A Darker Shade of Magic
by V.E. Schwab

I’ve been wanting to read this book for forever. It’s been sitting on my shelf for over a year and a half. But, in my typical fashion I’ve neglected it and gotten distracted. I hope to read it soon. Hopefully before 2017?

And I Darken
by Kierstin White

This book was initially a cover by for me. Then the hype hit. Both Eden and Caitlynn read this book and absolutely loved it. Eden even wrote a review here. So, I am being shamed into reading it as soon as possible. I want to read it next. But, you know how that goes with me.

The Knife of Never Letting Go
by Patrick Ness

I’m not going to lie I’ve been a little deterred from reading this book and the entire Chaos Walking series because of the sheer size of the books. I’m a little intimidated, okay?

The Name of the Wind
by Patrick Rothfuss

I’ve heard nothing but good things about this book and the entire kings killer chronicles. For some reason I just never think to pick up this book. There’s no rhyme or reason behind it. I just forget I own it.

A Game of Thrones
by George R.R. Martin

I’ve tried to read this books numerous times. I continued to avoid watching the show because I wanted to read the books first. However, it’s time for me to wave the white flag. It’s not going to happen any time soon. I’m not a fan of Martin’s writing style and no longer have an interest in reading this series. The show on the other hand is a different story. I think it’s about time to see what all the hype is about.

  1. I recently picked up “And I Darken” because I saw that… a signed first edition hardcover at Target. I fully intend on reading it before the year ends.

I half-read, half-listened to Game of Thrones so I got through it in no time. ADSOF is a surprisingly quick read!

  2. I share some of your choices… Especially The Name of the Wind. It’s been sitting on my shelf for ages and I still haven’t been brave enough to pick it up (it’s so big!)
I started watching GoT and meanwhile lost a bit of interest in reading the books. But I have the first two waiting to be opened for a while now.
    Great post 🙂

  3. It took me ages to get into G of T, I hated the short chapters and millions of characters, plus multiple locations/lands BUT once you get into it it’s so sooooo good. I think the only reason I managed to read it was because I broke my leg and had nothing else to do!
