The Reader Confessions Tag

Ok, so my full intentions were to have An Ember in the Ashes reviewed for you today, but alas, no such luck. I’ve had a pretty busy week this past week and now we are starting Steelheart so I’m really hoping to finish it super soon. I’m so excited to do the review for it because I’m really enjoying it! Keep an eye out for the review next Sunday!

Now, on to today… let me tell you how excited I was when I woke up to an email from Barnes & Noble with 3 for $30 teen books. I have gotten to page 16 of 31 and already have 16 items in my cart, crap…! My August Book Haul post will be coming soon too and this sale is definitely going to plump it up a bit!

I browsed some book tags through the reader this morning and came across TheBookishUnderdog’s blog here and enjoyed her answers to this tag so much I wanted to give it a shot!

1. HAVE YOU EVER DAMAGED A BOOK?

With And I Darken I feel like all I could do was damage that darn book! It was victim to a page turning tear and banana smudges… ugh! Luckily I found a signed copy of it at Target so now I have a damaged, reading copy and a signed copy!

2. HAVE YOU EVER DAMAGED A BORROWED BOOK?

Yes. (Sensing a theme here – maybe I should just read e-books from now on…)

When I was little I think I doodled in an Enid Blyton book before suddenly realising it was from the library and thinking I was going to get thrown in jail or something.

3. HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE YOU TO READ A BOOK?

It really just depends on the book and how much time I have to sit down and read it. If I can sit and read consistently for 3-4 hours I can definitely finish a book in one sitting, but if I have interruptions or gaps between reading the book it usually takes me quite longer… I’m looking at you Ember in the Ashes!!!

4. BOOKS YOU HAVEN’T FINISHED?

Ughhh, Flamecaster was my most recent DNF. I started it with such high hopes and I really do enjoy the book A LOT. I just don’t have the time for it right now. It’s so much bigger than I originally anticipated and it’s a lot when I have so many other books coming out right now.

5. HYPED/POPULAR BOOKS YOU DIDN’T LIKE?

Definitely All the Bright Things. I did not like it at all and felt that it handled mental illness just terribly.

6. IS THERE A BOOK YOU WOULDN’T TELL ANYONE YOU WERE READING?

I’m a shameless Crossfire enthusiast. I really enjoy the series and have yet to find a series that compares to it, but you are not going to find the books on my bookshelves… Haha!

7. HOW MANY BOOKS DO YOU OWN?

The last time I actually put my books into my Libib app I was at 130… However, that has been a long time since I last updated with many book hauls between so I would gestimate closer to 200 now…

8. ARE YOU A FAST/SLOW READER?

Jenn makes me feel like I’m the slowest reader in the world, but I guess I’m pretty fast.

9. DO YOU LIKE TO BUDDY READ?

I don’t even know what that is… haha, I’ll try anything once though!

10. DO YOU READ BETTER IN YOUR HEAD/OUT LOUD?

I’ve never tried reading aloud when casually reading to myself, so definitely in my head.

11. IF YOU WERE ONLY ALLOWED TO OWN ONE BOOK, WHAT WOULD IT BE AND WHY?

Easily A Court of Mist and Fury. Holy cow, I will never get sick of that book, it’s terrible. I love it so much from the characters to the settings it is such a beautiful book.
