Do you ever wish you could change something about a book series? What about a series that just ended too soon? Most of the time I am satisfied with what the author has given to us. However, there’s some that I just can’t get enough of. So, I decided to do the Totally Should Have Book Tag to voice my opinions.
The Totally Should’ve Book Tag
Number One: Totally Should’ve Gotten a Sequel
This question is really difficult. I read more series than anything else so it’s hard to think of a stand alone in and of itself. I would have to choose The Scorpio Races by Maggie Stiefvater. I loved this book so much. I would love to see more of this world.
Number Two: Totally Should’ve Gotten a Spin-Off Series
J.K. Rowling just needs to write a spin-off series revolving around the marauders. It would be everything I could ever want.
Number Three: An Author That Totally Should Write More Books
Pierce Brown. The Red Rising trilogy just ended. But, I just can’t get enough of Brown’s style of writing.
Number Four: A Character That Totally Should’ve Ended Up With Someone Else
Don’t even get me started. Aelin from Throne of Glass. I miss my brooding Chaol Westfall.
Number Five: Totally Should’ve Ended Differently
Rebel of the Sands by Alwyn Hamilton. Now, the ending of this book really didn’t bother me too much. However, I think there could have been a more interesting way to wrap up the series.
Number Six: Totally Should’ve Had a Movie Franchise
Can I change this to TV show? If so I would love to watch a HBO edition of Mistborn by Brandon Sanderson.
Number Seven: Totally Should’ve Had Only One Point of View
I am a really tough critic on multiple POVs in a book. It is a tough task to do well. It really bothered me in Allegiant by Veronica Roth. I had a very difficult time with differentiating between who was speaking in each chapter.
Number Eight: Totally Should’ve Had a Cover Change
All of the Bloodlines series by Richelle Mead. I love these books but I cannot stand their covers.
Number Nine: Totally Should’ve Kept The Original Covers
Across the Universe series by Beth Revis. I am not a fan of the new covers at all. Though the original design was not the best either I liked it a lot more than the current covers.
Number Ten: Totally Should’ve Stopped at Book One
If I Stay by Gayle Forman. This novel by Forman was beautiful and heartbreaking. I did not have the same connection to the second book in this duology. Honestly, I wish she would’ve just stuck with the first book being a standalone.
What’s something you would change in a book or series? Do you agree with any of my answers?
