It’s that time again. That’s right time for another Bout of Books. To be honest I do not participate in a lot of readathons. I always mean to, but life just kind of gets in the way. However, I always look forward to Bout of Books. It is low pressure while still providing a great support group. What is Bout of Books?
The Bout of Books read-a-thon is organized by Amanda Shofner and Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal. It is a week long read-a-thon that begins 12:01am Monday, January 2nd and runs through Sunday, January 8th in whatever time zone you are in. Bout of Books is low-pressure. There are challenges, giveaways, and a grand prize, but all of these are completely optional. For all Bout of Books 18 information and updates, be sure to visit the Bout of Books blog. – From the Bout of Books team
The thing I love about this particular readathon is that I can completely tailor it to make it personalized for me. I just follow my own rules. If I want a break from reading I can participate in a challenge. The feature I enjoy the most with Bout of Books is the Twitter chats. These chats have enabled me to meet and interact with fellow book lovers I may not have otherwise come across. This is a community driven event and I love it.
So, without further ado here is my reading list for Bout of Books 18:
- The May Queen Murders by Sarah Jude
- A Darker Shade of Magic by V.E. Schwab
- Between Shades of Gray by Ruta Sepetys
- A Gathering of Shadows by V.E. Schwab
- Talking as Fast as I Can by Lauren Graham
I’m also hoping to complete at least one of the challenges this week.
These goals are a bit of a stretch. I am returning back to work this week after break so it is bound to be crazy. But, I really want to try to challenge myself.
