New Year Resolution Book Tag – Jenn

I saw this tag on Suzanne’s Blog – Restless Readers and I knew I had to do it. I’m all about setting goals when it comes to reading. Though I want to keep reading fun I also want to make it conscientious as well. I want to think about what I’m reading. So, here are my resolutions.

An author you’d like to read (that you’ve never read before).

Patrick Rothfuss for sure. I’ve heard nothing but amazing things from other bloggers and I think it’s about time I pick up one of his books.

A book you’d like to read.
A Darker Shade of Magic by V.E. Schwab. Yeah, I’m not sure how I haven’t read it yet either.

A classic you’d like to read.
I want to give Emma by Jane Austen another try. I’ve picked it up previously but I think I just wasn’t in the mood for it yet.

A book you’d like to re-read.
This answer is another Jane Austen novel, Pride and Prejudice I love this book and I’ve been really craving it lately. Can you crave a book? Well, I am.

A book you’ve had for ages and want to read.
There are so many options for me to choose from. I’ve been reading Outlander for so long that I think it’s about time I re-read and finish it.

A big book you’d like to read.
1Q84 I’ve heard amazing things about this book. However, it’s really intimidating. It’s been on my shelf for years because I’ve been so intimidated.

An author you’ve previously read and want to read more of.
Patrick Ness. I love the first book in the Chaos Walking trilogy and would love to continue with the series.

A book you got for Christmas and would like to read.
This Christmas Caitlynn’s boyfriend got us all pre-orders for signed copies of A Conjuring of Light by VE Schwab. No, I haven’t started the series yet but it’s still my choice. Am I cheating? I’m cheating. But, I don’t care.

A series you want to read (start and finish)
I would really like to pick up the Queen of the Tearling novels this year.

A series you want to finish (that you’ve already started)
The 5th Wave series by Rick Yancey. I’ve been putting off finishing this series because I think I should reread the first 2 before I dive back in. So, I need to just go ahead and do it.

Do you set reading goals? If so, how many books do you want to read in 2017?
My current Goodreads goal is 75 books but I’m hoping to surpass that.

What are your goals and resolutions? Let me know below!

    R. A. Lafferty. If Ramsey Campbell recommends him he must be good.

A book you’d like to read.
Jerusalem by Alan Moore. 1,200 pages of his cogent ramblings in fiction form.

A classic you’d like to read.
The Red Badge of Courage – heard a lot about Stephen Crane but never read him.

    A book you’d like to re-read.
The House On the Borderlands by William Hope Hodgson. Read it three times already over the years and it’s MAD!

A book you’ve had for ages and want to read.
Quatermass by Nigel Kneale. It’s been sitting on the shelf for about 3 years now and I just never get around to reading it.

A big book you’d like to read.
    The Kills by Richard House.

An author you’ve previously read and want to read more of.
John Skipp. Read his books when I was younger and they were literate and atmospheric.

A book you got for Christmas and would like to read.
The Sellout by Pail Beatty. Actually – cheat time – just started reading it and it’s incredibly funny.

A series you want to read (start and finish)
James Axler and the Deathlands series, but there’s over a hundred of those so it’s not too likely anytime soon. I’ve read about 10 of them – hardly a drop in the ocean!
