What Cats Do Book Tag

Alright, so if any of y’all know me, you would know how much I love my two cats (and all cats in general), so I just knew this book tag was for me. Don’t get me wrong though, I’m a lover of all animals, I’ve just had cats my whole life so they hold an extra special place in my heart.

So when I found this book tag on Kate’s blog, here, I couldn’t help myself. Here goes nothing!

PURR- AS CATS DO THIS WHEN THEY’RE HAPPY OR RELAXED, WHAT IS THE BOOK THAT MAKES YOU HAPPIEST OR RELAXED?

Honestly, I get so happy and have such a sense of euphoria every time I open a new book and sit down to get started with it. Whether that feeling continues or not… well… it depends on the book. I just love sitting down and cracking up a book I haven’t read before.

SLEEP- WHAT IS A BOOK THAT PUT YOU TO SLEEP OR WAS JUST BORING?

Most recently, while I was reading Of Fire and Stars. So much stuff was tried to squeeze into such a short amount of time and it just made my eyes glaze over and I quickly fell asleep.

TWITCH WHILE DREAMING- HAVE YOU EVER DREAMT OF A BOOK YOU READ?

I’m not one to really remember my dreams too much, so I have to go with a no.

SEEMS TO PLAY NICE…UNTIL THE CLAWS ARE OUT- WHICH BOOK HAD THE BIGGEST PLOT TWIST(S)?

Ugh, literally every book for me. I’m always like “Holy cow! I didn’t see that coming!!!” Maybe my most recent one would be Last Seen Leaving by Caleb Roehrig (keep an eye out for our discussion on this next Saturday!)

CUDDLES- WHICH BOOK CHARACTER WOULD YOU GIVE A HUG TO?

Um, I would love to give Grace from A Madness So Discreet a hug, that girl really needs a good hug.

CATNIP- WHAT’S A BOOK THAT MADE YOU HAVE WARM AND FUZZY FEELS?

Ok, let me be real with you… Eden suggested over the weekend that we do ACOMAF as a re-read and discussion for the book club and I got SO EXCITED. I fangirled way too hard and basically made an embarrassment out of myself so it’s a good thing only Eden and Jenn were there to witness it. Anyways, I LOVE the ACOTAR series and I’m so excited we get the third book this year I can’t wait!

CAT BREEDS- WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE BOOKS?

So besides the obvious Rowling and Maas books. I’ll have to go with the Red Rising trilogy, Six of Crows duology, An Ember in the Ashes series, Truthwitch, and The Wrath & the Dawn. That’s not nearly my whole list, but a good portion of it. Why yes, I do love YA Fantasy…

GETTING THE CAT- HOW DID YOU FIND YOUR FAVORITE BOOK(S).

Goodreads, Bookstagram (bookish community in general), but most importantly lovely, fantastic recommendations from the always great Jenn and Eden.

THE VET’S OFFICE- YOUR LEAST FAVORITE BOOK.

So the lowest rated book on my Goodreads is All the Bright Places. I’ve already talked about how I couldn’t stand this book here if you’re interested.

BEING IN PLACES THEY SHOULDN’T- LEAST FAVORITE CLICHÉ.

I would have to go with a female protagonist needing a man/significant other to complete her/story line.

FINAL QUESTION: THE GOOD OLD CARDBOARD BOX- MOST UNDERRATED BOOK SERIES.

EVERYTHING MINDY MCGINNIS WRITES. It’s all beautiful and underrated and deserves so much more!

I hate tagging specific people in stuff, so just feel free to do this fun tag if you feel like it! Let’s talk about what you thought about some of my answers in the comments below. I can’t wait to see what you guys thought.

  1. ADORE this tag. Will be doing it myself 😉 What kind of cats do you have? I have a siamese mix that I’ve had for 6+ years named Harry Potter. Then when I got married my husbands cats became mine. So there is a grey tabby name Coleco and a white ragdoll mix named Sega.

    1. Aww! As soon as I saw it I knew I had to do it! Haha, I have two domestic shorthair tabbies-one grey and one brown. We have had both of them since they were born and one is 7 and one is 4. We’ve slowly grown to a golden retriever and a guinea pig and I wouldn’t have it any other way! 🙂

  2. This is such an adorable tag! I am not a huge fan of cats (they are nice to snuggle up with when watching a film of a Friday night) but this was just so entertaining. I usually use Goodreads to discover books, I didn’t know about bookstagram – you learn something new everyday eh? 🙂

    1. Yay! This tag was super fun and I loved how it based it off of what cats actually do! Good luck getting a cat, I know our local humane society is fantastic with cats (they have a cat and a kitten room!) I hope you find just the right baby for your life!
