Spring Flowers Book Tag

It’s the first day of Spring here in the United States today, so what better way to ring in the new season with a Spring Flowers book tag?! I found this on Chantal’s blog Dreaming of Ink and Paper, she’s the original creator of the tag, so be sure to check it out here.

I’m pretty close to finishing Daughter of Smoke and Bone so hopefully, I will have a book review for you guys next week!

Daffodil

A book about unrequited love

I’ll have to go with And I Darken for this one. There is a lot of unrequited love throughout that book in many different aspects.

Foxglove

A book you pretended to like

Hmm… I’m not sure. I don’t think I have ever lied about liking or disliking a book. I feel like I’m pretty honest about it… Maybe I downplay my love for The Selection a bit because I get endless heckling from Eden and Jenn about it.

Lilac

A book about a first love

The Anna and the French Kiss books were such cute, sweet first love books.

Hyacinth

A book with a sad ending

It Ends With Us. Now, don’t get me wrong, the ending totally had to happen, but it was still so sad!

Peony

A book that made you feel embarrassed

Twilight. I mean, I was a lot younger when I read it but it’s not a book that I like to talk about now…

Tulip

A book with the most beautiful declaration of love

Red Rising is going to take the cake for me this time. While it was slightly misplaced, Darrow’s love for Eo was something really beautiful.

Crocus

A book that made you laugh out loud

A Man Called Ove, if you haven’t read it you really should. It brought so much light into my world, I laughed out loud so many times reading that book.

Pansy

A book that challenged you to think about an important or heavy subject

When We Collided really brought up issues related to mental illness in a great manner. I think it did a great job addressing issues with mental illnesses and how it really affects yourself and those around you.

Daisy

A book about a strong female friendship

Truthwitch. That is one of my favorite books about powerful, badass female relationships!

Please feel free to do this tag yourself! Happy first day of Spring again everyone!

  1. This is such a sweet idea for a book tag – and I completely get what you mean about Twilight. It seems people are either in love or absolutely despite it, and I’m one of those people in the middle. It was good, for the age I was when I read it, and it created mainstream vampire young adult novels. Compared to what we have now? Not the greatest by a long shot, but back then… it was certainly very new and exciting to me.
