Fictional Faves

Today is another tag from me. I really prefer to not do a lot of tags, but I don’t have a whole lot to give right now. I will give you a heads and let you all know that I have two books that are going up for reviews next week, so you can stay tuned for that.

I found this tag on My Musical and Writing Lifes blog. Enjoy and feel free to take on the fictional favorites tag if you like it!

FAVOURITE GENRE

I really love fantasy. There are so many facets to it that I can just fall in to. Right now I’m into the fairy tale and folklore sub-genre within fantasy.

FAVOURITE AUTHOR

Probably V.E. Schwab or Susan Dennard. Both authors are so skilled and I don’t think I’ve read a book by either that I’ve disliked.

FAVOURITE BOOK

I’m going to alter this question a little and give you my favorite book that I’ve most recently read, which is American Street by Ibi Zoboi.

FAVOURITE LAND OR ENVIRONMENT

I’m going to go with the lands in The School For Good and Evil. I love the boarding school setting and how it feels a little bit like I’m reading Harry Potter.

FAVOURITE SPELL

Oh, well I’m going to say Crucio.

I’m choosing this because Harry using the crucio on Bellatrix in Harry Potter in the Order of the Pheonix is one of my all-time favorite moments in the series.

FAVOURITE BEAST OR CREATURE

Oh, I love Obliteration from Firefight. He was the perfect bad guy/beast.

FAVOURITE FOOD

Pumpkin Pasties from Harry Potter always sound absolutely amazing.

FAVOURITE BEVERAGE

The wine that Nemesis drinks in The Diabolic simply because the situation she’s in.

FAVOURITE GOOD CHARACTER

Ronan from The Raven Cycle. He’s so angry with the bullshit he’s been dealt in life, but he manages to always do what’s right. Even if it takes him 100 tries.

FAVOURITE BAD/EVIL CHARACTER

Holland from the Shades of Magic series because nothing beats a villain that is simply doing what he thinks is right.

FAVOURITE MALE PROTAGANIST

Ed Kennedy from I Am the Messenger, hands down.

FAVOURITE FEMALE PROTAGANIST

Lila Bard from the Shades of Magic series. She’s everything I want my female protags to be: cocky, badass and willing to do anything to get what she wants.

  1. Love this! it takes Ronan “100 tries to do what’s right”. That’s funny. I love V.E. Schwab too! Is Susan dennard the truth witch writer? I’ve seen mixed reviews for that book, but if she is one of your favorites then I definitely want to give Dennard’s writing a try.
