T5W – Books as Event Themes

I had no idea what this meant when I first saw the Top Five Wednesday topic for this week. After a quick explanation and realizing that, yes, Eden, people often have themes for their parties I finally understood. It’s been a long week, guys, bear with me.

Also this ended up being the weirdest post I’ve ever had. Also, it’s mostly a joke. Except for No. 1. All others though, definitely not worth taking seriously.

1. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone by J.K. Rowling (Any and all of this series really though)

Ok, of course this is No. 1. How could it not be?! A Harry Potter themed birthday party would be absolutely amazing. Could you imagine dressing up as your favorite character and hanging out with your friends? This would be so much fun!

2. Red Rising by Pierce Brown

Also another amazing concept. Everyone has to choose the color they most associate with anddd that’s about all I have. But obviously there will be a lot of fictional murder happening at a Red Rising themed party.

3. The Female of the Species by Mindy McGinnis

This would obviously be a prom theme. You see, you pick one sheltered student, make everyone think she’s cool but kind of creepy (but, like, in that cool way) and then at the end of prom everyone goes home knowing that they will never discuss the events that took place because it was just too much. Also, the sheltered student becomes a school legend. But again, nobody will really say why.

4. Heartless by Marissa Meyer

This is basically just an Alice in Wonderland themed party. It’s cool because everyone loves Alice in Wonderland (except for Caitlynn) and people get to wear and act wacky.

It can also be a tea party and everyone comes as a character that participated in the tea party. You may also invite someone you don’t like very much and make them be the dragon thing that ruins the tea party. Just make sure they show up at the end.

5. And I Darken by Kiersten White

The darkest of all the parties, the And I Darken themed party will include all of our favorite players from the Ottoman empire and, guess what, we’ll be impaling things. The party host will be Lada, who is our Vlad the Impaler of And I Darken and they will be expected to mete out any impaling necessary at this party.

  1. You can do no wrong throwing a Harry Potter themed party. Anyone who doesn’t enjoy Harry Potter either hasn’t read it or is potentially from another world where wizards aren’t viewed as fun. I’d recommend checking their navels to make sure they’re human. Also, the Vlad the Impaler party sounds like so much fun.
