May Fairy Loot Unboxing

Have I mentioned how much I love Fairy Loot? This is my favorite book box that I have ever subscribed to. The range of items that you get in these boxes is just great and the book never disappoints!

The May box was themed “Warriors & Legends” and it was described as the perfect box for “people that love The Lord of the Rings, and any epic fantasy adventure.” Um, yes, I’m raising my hand Fairy Loot…

Let’s get down to the unboxing.

The book of the month is Renee Ahdieh’s Flame in the Mist which I am so excited for! I love Ahdieh and FITM is at the top of my most anticipated reads for 2017, I can’t wait to see what Ahdieh has in store for us now.

Here’s the synopsis:

The only daughter of a prominent samurai, Mariko has always known she’d been raised for one purpose and one purpose only: to marry. Never mind her cunning, which rivals that of her twin brother, Kenshin, or her skills as an accomplished alchemist. Since Mariko was not born a boy, her fate was sealed the moment she drew her first breath.

So, at just seventeen years old, Mariko is sent to the imperial palace to meet her betrothed, a man she did not choose, for the very first time. But the journey is cut short when Mariko’s convoy is viciously attacked by the Black Clan, a dangerous group of bandits who’ve been hired to kill Mariko before she reaches the palace.

The lone survivor, Mariko narrowly escapes to the woods, where she plots her revenge. Dressed as a peasant boy, she sets out to infiltrate the Black Clan and hunt down those responsible for the target on her back. Once she’s within their ranks, though, Mariko finds for the first time she’s appreciated for her intellect and abilities. She even finds herself falling in love—a love that will force her to question everything she’s ever known about her family, her purpose, and her deepest desires.

Next up was the Warriors & Legends Jasmine and Lychee Green tea made by The Tea Leaf Co. I’m so excited for this and can’t wait to add to my loose leaf tea collection!

And something that I still haven’t gotten sick of receiving in book boxes yet, a bookish candle by In the Wick of Time, I received the “Flame” variety in my box, other boxes might have received the “Mist” scent. The flame scent is described as orange blossom & mint and it smells so great.

I am so excited that we got a second book in this Fairy Loot box and how I love learning about mythology! This book is World Mythology: In Bite-Sized Chunks by Mark Daniels.

This bookmark from Ink & Wonder is amazing. I never would have thought about a wood-based book mark! It’s beautiful and the quote/design are amazing from Lord of the Rings!

Last but not least, we received an exclusive pair of Celtic socks by Fairy Loot themselves.

This is the second time I’ve received this pen by Flora’s Wonder Emporium and I love it just as much this time. It has a gel-style ink to it and it writes so smooth. It’s amazing and I can’t get enough of it!

Do you subscribe to any book boxes? What is your favorite?

    1. Aww, you definitely should try it out, there are so many great companies depending on which country you live in (or how much money you mind spending). It’s nice getting a book that I wasn’t anticipating and all of the fun stuff that goes along with it as well. I’ve never been disappointed in a book box to date!
