Summer Reader Book Tag

Today is the day before the Fourth of July and what better way to celebrate than by doing a summer-themed book tag!

I grabbed this tag from JessetheReader’s book tube from over two years ago, soooo yeah… 🙂

Lemonade: pick a book that started off bitter but got better.

Rebel of the Sands was a rough start for me, but definitely got better later on.

Golden Sun: pick a book that made you smile beyond compare.

To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before by Jenny Han.

Tropical Flowers: pick a book set in a foreign country.

It’s not at all summer-y, but The Bronze Horseman which is set in Leningrad, Russia during WWII.

Tree Shade: pick a book in which a mysterious or shady character was first introduced.

Six of Crows. Between Kaz and Inej, I’m not sure who was the most mysterious or shady of the two.

Beach Sand: pick a book that was grainy, and the plot barely developed.

American Girls by Alison Umminger.

Green Grass: pick a character(s) that were full of life, making you smile.

Sevro from Red Rising. His snark really worked it’s way into my heart.

Watermelon: pick a book that had some juicy secrets.

The Diabolic. That book was built on secrets.

Sun Hat: pick a book that had a vast, big universe/setting.

I think it’s a toss-up between Illuminae and Red Rising both of which are space-based so it’s really hard to determine.

BBQ: pick a book in which a character was portrayed as a hunk.

Obviously Rhys or Cassian, but also Akiva from Daughter of Smoke & Bone.
