Mid-Year Book Freak Out Tag

Good morning! This is Eden, coming to you with a message about this Saturday’s discussion post. As many of you know, we would post a discussion on a book today, however, I messed up.

You see, I was out of town all week and was unable to finish our next discussion read, Lord of Shadows. In place of the post, I offered to post my Mid-Year Book Freak Out tag since both Caitlynn and Jenn have both already posted it.

With that, enjoy! (And stay tuned for next Saturday’s discussion post on Lord of Shadows.

1. Best Book You’ve Read So Far.

This goes to Eliza and Her Monsters. I really loved the story and characters.

2. Best Sequel You’ve Read So Far

I don’t think I’ve read many sequels this year. The only one I can think of is A World Without Princes (School For Good and Evil) and that was actually very good.

3.New Release You Haven’t Read Yet, But Want To?

The Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue. It’s had some really good reviews and the overall concept of the story sounds amazing.

4. Most Anticipated Release For Second Half of 2017

I know this is really typical because everyone is excited for it, but Marie Lu’s Warcross is one that I’ve been waiting on for about two years now.

5. Biggest Disappointment?

I was really disappointed with Of Fire and Stars. I had really high expectations for the book and I just wasn’t as invested as I thought I would be.

6. Biggest Surprise?

That ending to The Last of August, for sure.

7. Favourite New Author

While I still love V.E. Schwab, this year I’ve become a pretty big fan of Susan Dennard and Mindy McGinnis.

8. Newest Fictional Crush

Hm. Probably Lazlo Strange. His love of stories and books is such a wonderful trait.

9. Newest Favourite Character

I really loved Molly from The Upside of UnrequitedI.

10. Book That Made You Cry

I actually cried a bit while reading Eliza and Her Monsters.

11. Book That Made You Happy

I don’t know if I actually read any books that left me feeling happy. Maybe excited, but not happy.

12. Favourite Book To Movie Adaptation You Saw This Year

I haven’t seen any book to movie adaptions. Sorry, guys.

13. Favourite Review You’ve Written This Year

I think that goes to my review for The Upside of Unrequited or Eliza and Her Monsters.

14. Most Beautiful Book You Bought So Far This Year?

Wintersong, easily.

15. What Books Do You Need To Read By The End of The Year?

Oh wow. So many. I really want to read WayfarerA Crown of WishesThe Bone Season and about a million more.
