You know, I started the month of July on such a positive note.
I’d finished Saint Anything and was immediately off into Shadow and Bone and then I managed to finish nothing.
To be fair, I did finish Siege and Storm by Leigh Bardugo, I just haven’t posted my review for it yet. You can be sure that I’ll be posting my review for it on Friday.
Now, let’s get on with the shaming.
July Wrap Up
Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo
I really enjoyed the first book in the Grisha Trilogy. This book was exciting and swoon-worthy packaged in a world that I can’t get enough of. For more, you can check out my review on it.
Siege and Storm by Leigh Bardugo
I’m not going to go into great detail about this book here. All I can say is that I really enjoyed it despite it taking me two weeks to finish. My review will be up on Friday.
Yep. That’s literally it. I think I’m in a slump because I’m really struggling to push myself to just sit down and read.
With such a poorly executed July, I really want to make up for last month.
So, the goal for August is four books. That gives me eight books total with our weekly discussion reads. We’ll see if I can make this happen.
I figured it’d be a good time to finish out some series.
Ruin & Rising by Leigh Bardugo
This is the first book I want to pick up. I just finished Siege and Storm and I would love to finish this series while it’s fresh in my mind. Plus, I’m obsessed.
A Conjuring of Light by V.E. Schwab
It’s almost sacrilige that I haven’t finished this series yet. I mean, ACOL literally came out in February and I still haven’t taken the time to read it. That needs to change.
School For Good and Evil: The Last Ever After
Y’all, I love this series so much. I know a fourth book is coming out this year, but even more reason for my to read it now in preparation.
The Thousandth Floor by Katharine McGee
Jenn was a really big fan of this book. I figured it’s something a little away from the realm of fantasy and, as fantasy is the bulk of what I often read, I wouldn’t mind taking myself away into something outside of my comfort zone.
