Top Ten (Sunday) | Hidden Gems in YA

So the Young Adult genre has grown so much in the recent years, so there are definitely quite a few YA books that have fallen through the cracks in the past years.

I wanted to do this post about YA books with less than 10,000 reviews on Goodreads, I think that’s a pretty fair.

Shall we?

10. The Darkest Corners by Kara Thomas

9. Gilded Cage by Vic James

8. Last Seen Leaving by Caleb Roehrig

7. The Female of the Species by Mindy McGinnis

6. American Street by Ibi Zoboi

5. Scythe by Neal Shusterman

4. Wolf by Wolf by Ryan Graudin

3. My Sister Rosa by Justine Larbalestier

2. The Diabolic by S.J. Kincaid

1. A Madness So Discreet by Mindy McGinnis

Each of these books are fantastic and truly need more love! What are some hidden gems on your list?

  1. I just finished the Midnight Queen and it was lovely. It’s historical fantasy, and I suppose it could be considered sort of YA–the heroine is 17, although the hero is a few years older (he’s in college). Lovely, lovely book. The sequels, as they often do in trilogies, seem to undo everything done in book 1, so I won’t be reading them. (Besides, Gray’s not hardly in them, and he’s mostly the reason I read book 1! Gotta love an awkward, sweet guy who can turn into an owl.)
