The Ruler of Books Tag

One Book to rule them all, One Book to find them, One Book to bring them all and in the darkness bind them, or something like that. Today I was intrigued by this tag that I found one on Enthralling Umbrella Books Blog and I knew I had to do it. If I was the ruler of books these would be my decrees.

What book would you make everyone read?

To kill a Mockingbird is a classic that I think everyone should read. This feels especially true now with the status of civil rights in our county.

What would you abolish in book construction?

Cover changes halfway through a series. I don’t care how bad the cover is. Can we just keep the same cover until all of the books are out?

What author would you commission to write you any book?

I think I would choose Tahereh Mafi. She has a talent that can take her from a dark YA novel to a fantastical middle grade. So, I know no matter what I wanted she could deliver.

What book would you demote to the library basement to make room for new books?

The heart is a Lonely Hunter. I had to read it for high school and I hated every moment of it. That may be because it was assigned reading. But, I was not happy.

What cover artist would you commission to make a mural?

I would have to choose the cover artist of the original covers for Harry Potter. How could would it be to have a complete HP mural done in that style?!

What characters face would you put on a coin?

Can we put the Darkling’s face on a coin. I think he would get a thrill from that idea.

What book would you award the “Ruler of Books” 2017 Prize to?

Eliza and Her Monsters was a book that really surprised me. I loved this book. It had wonderful characters, a intriguing plot line, and a beautiful writing style. You can check out my full review for it here.

What would you name as your “Ruler of Books” for 2017? Let me know in the comments below!
