Horror Movies Book Tag

Well, now that October has set in Jenn is getting all of us over here at Thrice Read amped up about the Halloween season. Which I would have to say is probably one of her favorites. We have been to Halloween Horror Nights and Howl-O-Scream already and she’s been hunkering all of us down with horror films as of late.

When I saw this tag on Michelle’s blog (check out her post here!) I knew that this was the perfect tag to do today. Speaking of which, Eden is *almost* finished with Our Dark Duet so we will have our discussion on that tomorrow for you guys! Monday will be the September Fairy Loot unboxing, so stay tuned!

  • Thank the person(s) who tagged you and let others know of their fabulous blogs.

The Zombie Apocalypse

Name a book you’d save when civilization ends..

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. That book could stand on it’s own and would definitely my book to save if I could only pick one.

The Vampire

A book you would stake through the heart..

The Merciless by Danielle Vega. It definitely didn’t impress me in the whole YA horror genre.

The Haunted House

A book that still haunts you..

Definitely The Raven Boys in the best way possible though. Once you read those books, they never leave you.

The Psycological Thriller

Book with a twist you did not see coming

Caraval. That book was crazy and it was so great. The plot twist in that book is great.

The Creepy Doll

A book that seems innocent but isn’t

The Female of the Species. I don’t know what I was expecting when I read that book, but it definitely wasn’t what I got! That was a phenomenal book.

The Monster

A book you could barely tackle

Morningstar by Pierce Brown. It was a huge book and there was so much going on and so many things happening that there were times that I wasn’t sure I was going to be able to handle it. But I prevailed and I’m glad I did, because oh boy that book…

The Comedy Horror

A book with mixed genres that worked or didn’t

My Lady Jane. We were not expecting it to work, but yes it sure did. Humor and historical fiction together was a great combo.

The Cliched Teen Horror

A book you found super cliched

American Girls by Alison Umminger. Not in any good ways, either.

The Demonic Possession

A Book so gripping you need an exorcist to scape it

Wolf By Wolf by Ryan Graudin. That book and her writing just totally entrance you.

The Science Fiction

A precious book you would sacrifice to aliens for the good of mankind

The War That Saved My Life. That book is the definition of precious for me and I would sacrifice it because lord knows we need to keep as much good in mankind as possible.

So there you have it! My Horror Films book tag, please feel free to do the tag if it interests you! I love Halloween time and all the great things that come with it, including fun fall book tags.

  1. I’m so surprised you didn’t like The Merciless! Have you read any other Danielle Vega books? And do you have any YA horror recommendations you think do the genre justice? I’ve been reading a lot of darker books lately and I’d like to skip a little deeper into horror.

    1. I read both the first Mericless and the second Merciless book of hers that’s pretty much it though. I haven’t really found a great horror book in the YA genre. I did like Kara Thomas’ The Darkest Corners.

I think I might just prefer adult horror/psychological thrillers over YA.
