Fairy Loot Unboxing – September 2017

The theme for this month was “All that Sass” and I could not wait for this book. Sass is definitely one of my top traits in any character, so I knew this box would be just what I was looking for.

Let’s get going on September’s unboxing now!

I’m really digging the cover of this book. It is the prettiest blue and I’m sure that the pictures cannot do it justice.

This months book is Even the Darkest Stars by Heather Fawcett.

Here’s the synopsis:

Kamzin has always dreamed of becoming one of the Emperor’s royal explorers, the elite climbers tasked with mapping the wintry, mountainous Empire and spying on its enemies. She knows she could be the best in the world, if only someone would give her a chance.

But everything changes when the mysterious and eccentric River Shara, the greatest explorer ever known, arrives in her village and demands to hire Kamzin—not her older sister Lusha, as everyone had expected—for his next expedition. This is Kamzin’s chance to prove herself—even though River’s mission to retrieve a rare talisman for the emperor means climbing Raksha, the tallest and deadliest mountain in the Aryas. Then Lusha sets off on her own mission to Raksha with a rival explorer who is determined to best River, and Kamzin must decide what’s most important to her: protecting her sister from the countless perils of the climb or beating her to the summit.

The challenges of climbing Raksha are unlike anything Kamzin expected—or prepared for—with avalanches, ice chasms, ghosts, and even worse at every turn. And as dark secrets are revealed, Kamzin must unravel the truth of their mission and of her companions—while surviving the deadliest climb she has ever faced.

So this is an item that I am SO excited about. Especially with YALLFest coming up (it gets pretty chilly in the morning!). This is another first from Fairy Loot, we got our very own Rattle the Stars beanie. I love the simplicity of it and it’s just great. Also, it will match my wardrobe perfectly.

This was created by one of our favorite people (who we met at YALLFest last year!) Brittany with Reverie and Ink. Check out her Society 6 page here.

Next is a beautiful tote bag featuring a Cassandra Clare quote from The Infernal Devices. This was designed by Miss Phi and I love all of her work that I have received in various book subscription boxes.

Check out Miss Phi’s products here.

In the Wick of Time is giving me all the feels with this wonderfully scented High Warlock candle! Sandalwood and lavender are two of my favorite scents and combined it’s an amazing combination.

Check out the rest of In Wick of Time’s products here.

As a teacher, I absolutely love notepads, I can never have enough! This one was created based on Nikolai Lantslov from Leigh Bardugo’s the Grisha series.

Check out Alexis Lampley’s work here at Drop and Give Me Nerdy.

I haven’t had a chance to try this hot chocolate yet, but let me tell you it feels so light and fluffy and nothing like any hot chocolate I’ve ever had before! This hot chocolate created by Brontie & Co is inspired by Percy Jackson and is vegan-friendly!

Check out Brontie & Co.’s other products here.

Ink and Wonder Designs does it again with this Solemnly Swear magnet! I love this so much and it’s immediately going onto my refrigerator.

Check out Ink and Wonder’s other work here.

Last but certainly not least, we have our beautiful artwork pieces created by Taratjah. One features Carswell Thorne from The Lunar Chronicles and one features Lila Bard from the A Darker Shade of Magic series.

Check out Taratjah’s other work here.

We did get a couple of other extras in this box including A Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue chapter sampler and a Tower of Dawn promo bookmark!

There you have it! I will be counting down the days until the October box comes around, I am so excited for Fairy Loot every month!

What are some of your favorite unboxing posts or book subscription boxes?

  1. This always looks like a great box. I would definitely consider subscribing if 1) I weren’t low on cash in general at the moment and 2) I weren’t worried about overseas shipping costs.

  2. I loooved this box! I was craving hot chocolate yesterday evening and opened this package – yay FairyLoot! – but for some reason, my stomach didn’t agree with the smell of it? [I have been feeling a little off lately, so it could just be that.] I ended up using another chocolate bomb I had [no clue how else to describe it since it was orange, than white chocolate and it suddenly burst open with dark brown cocoa, haha.]
Soooo, I still have to try the hot chocolate as well! Hopefully my stomach can go back to normal soon and I get to try it out. 😀

*Lovelove the beanie and the tote. They’re practically my regular going-out outfit by now..*
