NaNo WriMo and My Attempts at Writing

I haven’t written in a short time now.

I mean, I’ve written on here, but not anything pertaining to stories.

I’m pretty sure it’s simply because I’ve been a little spent, both mentally and physically. Pretty much, I took a little break from doing anything that pertained to writing for a little bit now and I’m finally back and ready to go.

Here’s the funny thing, I started writing something new about two days before National Novel Writing month began. It wasn’t intentional, but I figured it would be a good time to capitalize on the momentum and follow along with NaNo WriMo.

So, for those that don’t know how National Novel Writing month works, the goal is to write an entire novel (at least 50,000 words) by the end of November.

The beauty of doing this is that it sets a deadline so you know that you HAVE to work in order to get it done. There isn’t any procrastinating. Plus, if you’re struggling for ideas, or maybe you’re stuck, you can reach out to the members of the community for help.

If you want to jump on the wagon and join me in this very harrowing endeavor, you can search for me on NaNoWriMo under EdenThriceRead. I’m already off to a rough start, so come encourage me guys!

  1. Added you!

As a self-proclaimed ‘veteran’, this NaNoWriMo thing is the easiest/hardest thing you’ll do all year. Easy because it just means sitting down each day and writing, hardest because THAT’S NOT AS EASY AS IT SOUNDS, JERK!

If you’re behind early on, don’t be discouraged. On day one, it was 1,667 words a day. Redo the math for where you at day three to give yourself a new target. Then, add 10% and make THAT you’re new target. If you end up having to take a day off later in the month, you’ll be glad for that extra 10% a day!
