If you’ve read my post from Tuesday, then you know I’m currently participating in NaNoWriMo. If you know NaNoWriMo, then you know it kind of takes over the whole month of November for the participants. Because of that I’m behind in my reading. So, I’m doing a book tag today. I found this one on Becca’s blog. I really liked this post because it asked some different questions that I haven’t answered before.
How many books do you usually read at once?
Typically I try to read just one book at a time. However, sometimes with discussion posts I’m forced to read 2 books at once. Right now I’m actually reading 3 books in total. I’m reading 2 books with my students and 1 for a discussion post.
If you’re reading more than one book at a time, how do you decide when to switch books?
I give priority to what book is shorter and what my current mood is. Sometimes, I’m just not in the mood for certain book. So, that definitely plays a role in what I choose to read.
Do you ever switch bookmarks while you’re partway through a book?
Yes. I do this all the time. A lot of time’s I’ll put my bookmarks on my desk, nightstand, or bookshelves. Then I forget where I put them and grab another one.
Where do you keep the book(s) you’re currently reading?
All over the place. Seriously, I’m constantly trying to find my books after I’ve put them down randomly. There are books everywhere, my bed, my car, the kitchen table, etc. It’s a real problem.
What time of day do you spend the most time reading?
Typically I do most of my reading right before bed. Late night reading is my favorite kind of reading.
How long do you typically read in one sitting?
I try to set aside a large portion of time to read. When I get the chance I try to read for at least 1-2 hours.
Do you read hardbacks with the dust jacket on or off?
Definitely off. I am terrible about keeping them in decent condition if I don’t take them off while I read.
What position do you mainly use to read?
Usually I lay down to read. I try to get as comfy as possible while reading. Having to change positions or arms really interrupts my reading.
Do you take the book you’re currently reading with you everywhere you go?
I try to. Typically I will read a kindle version of the book as well as the hard copy of it. However, sometimes I forget to and I definitely regret that.
How often do you update your Goodreads progress on the book you’re currently reading?
Haha. I’m terrible about this. Honestly, I’m just terrible about updating Goodreads in general. I’m sure it says I’m currently reading something I read forever ago. Sometimes I make a conscious effort to update it. But, most of the time I forget.
