Can you believe that there are only 22 days left in the year? To celebrate our progress this year (and to shame ourselves into reading more) we decided to do the End of the Year Book Tag,
We found this tag on Katelyn @ From Cover to Cover‘s blog but it was originally created by Ariel Bissett.
Question #1: Are there any books you started this year that you need to finish?
Jenn: Yes, definitely. The first one that comes to mind is The Song Rising by Samantha Shannon. I put this book down to read a different book for our discussion post. But, just never picked it back up.
Caitlynn: I would love to finish the HP series by the end of this year!
Eden: I started reading A Conjuring of Light about a month and a half ago. I would love to finish it before the end of the year.
Question #2: Do you have an autumnal book to transition into the end of the year?
Jenn: I’m going to be honest. I’m not much of a seasonal reader. I read books whenever I feel like it without worrying about season or theme.
Caitlynn: I have to agree with Jenn on this one, I’m not much of a seasonal reader.
Eden: Same as Jenn and Caitlynn, I read what I want when I feel like reading it. I’m not big into particular books at a particular time of the year.
Question #3: Is there a new release you’re still waiting for?
Jenn: I am so behind on new releases. Seriously, I haven’t read Tower of Dawn yet and it came out 3 months ago.
Caitlynn: 100% Iron Gold. I need more Pierce Brown in my life ASAP.
Eden: The next book in the Charlotte Holmes series comes out and I’m very excited!
Question #4: What are three books you want to read before the end of the year?
Jenn: The Black Prism, Wintersong, and Something Strange and Deadly. These are all books that have been highly anticipated for me. So, I think it’s about damn time I read them!
Caitlynn: Besides the HP books I would like to read The Young Elites by Marie Lu, Daughter of Blood & Starlight by Laini Taylor, and The Raven King by Maggie Stiefvater.
Eden: A Conjuring of Light, Warcross, and Wonder Woman: Warbringer.
Question #5: Is there a book you think could still shock you and become your favourite book of the year?
Jenn: I’m going to say A Crown of Wishes. I loved The Star-Touched Queen, so I have a great feeling about this book. I need to read it ASAP.
Caitlynn: I have high hopes for the second Daughter of Smoke and Bone book, but honestly I’ll be happy just getting more books read at the moment.
Eden: I don’t think it will shock me, but Warcross.
Question #6: Have you already started making reading plans for 2018?
Jenn: Right now, I’m just focusing on 2017. I’m already behind in my goals. So, I think I need to focus on getting back on track rather than thinking about the future.
Caitlynn: Not really… I’m still trying to see how I’m going to get as much reading in while teaching. I am looking forward to binge reading in the summertime though!
Eden: I don’t. Right now, I’m just pushing myself to make it through the week I’m at. I do want to read more. I think I got tired and stopped reading as much this year, which is disappointing.
