Blogging and Reading in 2018

Thrice Read had an amazing year in 2017.

There’s no doubt that we put in a lot of work and time in 2017. But even with the success we had and are hoping to continue to have in the future there are things that will have to change for me.

All good of course.

Except this year I’m taking some of the pressure off of myself. Instead of reading a book to get a review done, I’m going to read it because it’s the book I want to read. I’m not going to push myself through a slump by forcing myself to read books just so I can keep going, I’m going to give that slump time to play itself out so I can be more effective as a blogger and more fair to the book.

Even more importantly, I’m going to write. I had so much fun in November participating in NaNoWriMo and it had me excited to read more. This year, I’m making a point to write more, which will hopefully turn into reading more.

Finally, I’m writing MORE blog posts. I’m going to give more thoughtful posts and fewer tags. It’s always easier to do a tag when I’m busy, but it’s more rewarding to think about my post and give the readers something worth thinking about.

Here’s to 2018 and the many amazing books I’ll read.

  1. Looking forward to all these things! I’ve decided to slow down my reading and pick things up because I want to read them rather than because I feel like I must. I’m hoping this leads to fewer slumps this year!
