T5W – Series I Won’t Finish

This month the T5W options have been a free-for-all. I really struggled to come up with topics for it, but in the end I say that Chelsea decided to do a top five Wednesday on series she’ll likely never finish.

I thought this was fitting because I currently have a few sitting on my shelves that I’m refusing to read.

With that said, here are the series I’ll likely never finish.

Snow Like Ashes series by Sarah Raasch

I read the first two books in this series and I just can’t foresee enjoying the last one after my lack of excitement over the first two. If I do read the third in this series, it won’t be for a very long time.

Anna and the French Kiss series by Stephanie Perkins

I really enjoyed this novel, however, I don’t know that I would be that excited for another book like this. It’s a nice fun read when I have a lot going on and can’t sit down and just immerse myself in a book, outside of that I don’t know that I really care to continue the series.

Labyrinth Lost (Brooklin Brujas series) by Zoraida Cordova

I didn’t like this book, it’s that simple. It’s not that it’s a bad book, but moreso that Cordova didn’t seem like she knew what she wanted to do, which made the writing feel weak.

The School for Good and Evil series by Soman Chainani

I actually really like theses books, however, I was turned off to the rest of the series after listening to Chainani talk at YALLfest about how the fourth book in the series is a court romance and then referred to it as smut for middle grade. It just didn’t give me the right vibe and I haven’t had the want to read the rest of the series since.

Of Fire and Stars series by Audry Coulthurst

This was another book I just didn’t like. It wasn’t that it was a bad story, I just felt like the plot was a little thin and a bit over the top. However, I was excited to know that we had a female/female relationship in a young adult fantasy novel.

  1. I want to work with The School for Good and Evil, but I don’t know what to think after reading THAT. I hate YA sex where they dance around the topic, and thats what I think this will be like.
