Good morning everyone!
So, it’s been a bit since I’ve done a top five Wednesday and since we’re halfway through 2018, I figured now would be a good time to recap some of my favorite books of the year.
Now, I’m embarrassed to admit that I’ve only read about 10 books this year. However, I’ve had the opportunity to read some amazing books so it wasn’t too hard of a post.
If you’re interested in participating in top five Wednesday, you can join the group on Goodreads to follow along with the discussion topics.
5. The Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue by Mackenzi Lee
I loved that this novel gave us a a romance that actually fit the characters. Monty was sweet and funny and it was nice how Lee managed to make Monty’s struggle with his sexuality still relevant to our time.
4. Words in Deep Blue by Cath Crowley
I think I lost this book in everything I write at this point, however, it was just so sweet and sad. I absolutely loved the characters and never felt like I struggled to finish the book at any point.
3. Children of Blood and Bone by Toni Adeyemi
I was really weary of this book when I first started reading it because it’s so massive and kind of daunting. In the end it was worth it because the plot, characters, and overall writing was phenomenal.
2. Warcross by Marie Lu
Literally, anything by Marie Lu is amazing.
1. Renegades by Marissa Meyer
I actually just finished this book and wow. It was so good and the ending just made my day. We’ll actually have a discussion on it this week so I won’t go too into detail.
