Yes, it’s another tag. This one really made me think. I had a hard time with quite a few of these questions. I liked that I really had to assess my reading and what I’ve really liked and disliked. I found this tag on Sarah’s Blog. I tag everyone and anyone.
Favorite book of all time?
This feels like the most impossible question to answer. I would probably have to say that Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix would be my favorite book of all time.
Favorite book five years ago?
Five years ago I was 21 and was just starting law school. If you asked me then I would probably say Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi. I fell in love with this series as soon as I read it.
I would definitely have to say Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo. This duology was just written perfectly. I loved the world, the magic system, and the characters. Bardugo is an incredible author that creates books that feel real and rooted. They are representative of our real world and the grey that comes along with that. However, she still manages to create fantastical elements.
Last book you read?
The last book I completed was The Black Prism by Brent Weeks. I did start Obsidio by Jay Kristoff and Amie Kaufman, however I haven’t managed to finish it yet.
Last book of poetry you read?
The Poet X by Elizabeth Acevedo. It was an amazing book that was beautifully written and heart wrenching.
What book most influenced your life?
I feel like it’s impossible to choose just one novel. I will say that one of the books that influenced my life heavily was To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee. I read this book in 8th grade and the story just resonated with me and helped me to understand some of the history of our country.
Book that made you ugly cry?
The Book Thief by Markus Zusak. This book made me ugly cry at 3 am in my dorm room while doing laundry. It really effected me.
Book that made you laugh?
One author that never fails to make me laugh would be Sarah J Maas. I love the humor and dialogue within her novels. The interactions make me laugh incredibly hard.
Character you’d like to be for a day?
What a loaded question. There are just so many options for this novel. Honestly, I would probably have to go with Rhysand from A Court of Mist and Fury. I would love to have his friends and it would be so cool to be able to travel to Velaris. I mean who wouldn’t want that?
Book so good you dreamt about it?
I honestly don’t think I’ve dreamt about a book, or at least I can’t remember a dream that was about a book.
Book you DNFd?
Vassa in the Night by Sarah Porter, I just could not get into this storyline. So, I had to give it up.
What book are you most excited to read?
There are too many to list. The one that immediately came to mind though would be A Very Large Expanse of Sea by Tahereh Mafi. I cannot stop thinking about this book since Tahereh Mafi first announced the idea behind the novel. I can’t wait to read it!
