Top 5 Books to Read for Back to School

Here at Thrice Read we are gearing up for the school year. We are all teachers and we had our first day back yesterday. Since back to school is taking up most of our time and energy I thought I would create a post that goes along with that. So, here are the top 5 books to read during this time of year!

  1. Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone JK Rowling
    • I mean this novel begins with the begin if the school year. When I was thinking about books for this tag this was the first book that came to mind.
  2. Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell
    • I really wanted this list to encompass all different levels. when I thought about going back to school in collage this novel stood out to me. It really touches on the freedom and the insecurity that goes along with starting college. Plus, I just love Rowell’s writing.
  3. To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before by Jenny Han
    • This is the perfect sweet and funny contemporary to get you excited for the school year. The high school setting can help to get you excited for the school year.
  4. Simon vs the Homosapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli
    • This book was amazing. I really appreciate the novel for representing the experience of students that come out in high school. Albertalli did an amazing job with the writing and storyline of this novel.
  5. The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky
    • This wouldn’t truly be a list for back to school if I didn’t include this novel. IT was a book that I felt was true to life and understood what it was like to be a teenager when I was in school. It’s a classic that will never get old for me.

  1. I’d recommend Wonder by R.J. Palacio as well (some of my pupils read this and said they were thankful that I recommended it to them)
    Have a wonderful school year!

  2. Fangirl spoke to my college undergrad experience so much as I also went to a midwestern public college that sounded exactly like the one in the book! These are some great back-to-school nostalgic reads ^_^
