Courts of Prythian Book Tag!

It’s been a quick minute since I have seen anything regarding the Court of Thorns and Roses series, so I feel like this book tag could not have come at a more perfect time.

I found this tag on Antonia and Amanda’s blog, Classy x Book Reviews, check out their post here.

Seasonal Courts

Spring Court – High Lord Tamlin

“Beautiful, everlasting spring but with a bit of a dark side, much like its High Lord, who you might have loved when the series started and rooted for him and Feyre but now you feel completely different.”

Name a book or series that you loved in the beginning and ended up hating.

The Maze Runner series is a good example of this. I really enjoyed the first book of the series, then the farther that I got in the series, the less I began to like it. It started to feel to me very recycled.

Summer Court – High Lord Tarquin

“A court that wants equality for all fae and is working on achieving that. A place that receives everyone.”

Name a book or series with the most diverse characters that you’ve read.

Children of Blood and Bone by Tomi Adeyemi.

Autumn Court – High Lord Beron

“Filled with conflict and power struggles under the rule of ruthless High Lord. Most likely where we will be going in the next books in the series.”

Name a book or series that you could not put down because you had to know what happened next.

When I first read A Court of Thorns and Roses, both ACOTAR and ACOMAF were out. I finished ACOTAR so quickly and was so glad I had picked up both books at the time! I don’t know what I would have done if I was going to have to wait for the second book to come out.

Winter Court – High Lord Kallias

“A beautiful and cold landscape and very hard to read people.”

Name a book or series that you picked up because of its cover and it ended up being hard to read.

LIFELIK3 by Jay Kristoff. I really enjoyed the book, but Kristoff’s world building can be hard to grasp sometimes, he is always coming up with new slang and very detailed worlds that make it hard to read sometimes, but usually ends up being worth it in the end.

Solar Courts

Dawn Court – High Lord Thesan

“Healing and inventions are the core of this court.”

Name a book that lightens your mood after reading it.

The Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue. I love a good book that can make me laugh! I cannot wait for the next book to come out.

Day Court – High Lord Helion

“The court of light and knowledge.”

Name a book that you found to be the most inspiring.

The Hate U Give is a book that I will always go back to that has inspired me and many, many other people who have read it. I cannot wait for it to be in theaters!

Night Court – High Lord Rhysand & High Lady Feyre

“With its two subcourts, it’s the perfect example of the dual nature of everything.”

Court of Nightmares

“Just as the name states this court is full of monsters and evil intentions.”

Name a book, series, or character that you hate with a passion.

I have never hated anyone as much as I hated Dolores Umbridge when I read the Harry Potter books the first time. I felt some crazy strong feelings for her, definitely not good ones, that I still harbor to this day!

Court of Dreams

“The utopic court, where we all would love to live.”

Name your favorite read of the year (so far). A book that blended everything you were looking for.

I would have to say that probably my favorite read so far this year was Ready Player One. It was such a great book and I wasn’t expecting it to be that great!
