20 Questions Book Tag

I found this fun tag on Personally, Emma’s page. I thought it looked like fun so, I figured I would give it a shot. Since I’m getting back into the book world, I had a blast completing this tag!

1. How many books is too many books in a series?

This definitely depends on the book. However, I think it starts getting a little dicey past 5 books in a series. There are very few series that can hold my attention for that long.

2. How do you feel about cliffhangers?

I love them when all of the books in the series are out. I despise them when I’m reading the books as they come out. They’re a fun storytelling device. But, also I have a very small amount of patience.

3. Hardback or paperback?

I’m definitely a hardcover girl. I love how they look on my shelves and how well they hold up. My paperbacks seem to fall apart way too easily.

4. Favourite book?

Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo. This series is perfect. I absolutely love the plot and the characters.

5. Least favourite?

Ugh, Vinegar Girl by Anne Tyler. Check out my review here to find out why.

6. Love triangles, yes or no?

Yes and no. I definitely have to be in the mood to read about a love triangle. Unfortunately there are a lot of books that I feel like the love triangle is kind of pointless to the plot and I don’t like it then.

7. The most recent book you just couldn’t finish?

I would say probably Vassa in the Night. I just could not get into that book.

8. A book you’re currently reading?

I’m currently reading I”m Not Your Perfect Mexican Daughter by Erika Sánchez and I’m loving it.

9. Last book you recommended to someone?

Honestly, I’m not really sure what the last recommendation I gave to someone was. It may have been The Iron Trial by Holly Black and Cassandra Clare. I recommended it to my niece.

10. Oldest book you’ve read?

Probable The Canterbury Tales by Geoffrey Chaucer.

11. Newest book you’ve read?

Hmm I’m very behind on my TBR. Perhaps it’s Heroine by Mindy McGinnis, but I’m not sure.

12. Favourite author?

Leigh Bardugo hands down.

13. Buying or borrowing books?

Buying. I like to have the option to reread if I love the book. Plus, they look nice on my bookshelves.

14. A book you dislike but everyone else seemed to love?

Catcher in the Rye was a book that I was recommended left and right. But, I just couldn’t get into it.

15. Bookmarks or dog-ears?

Bookmarks! Even if it’s just a scrap of paper I do not dog-ear my pages.

16. A book you can always re-read?

Pride and Prejudice sometimes it just warrants a reread, ya know?

17. Can you read while hearing music?

I can’t focus at all if there is music playing that has lyrics. If it’s instrumental then I’m good.

18. One POV or multiple?

Multiple. I’m a big fan of large casts of characters I grow to know and love.

19. One sitting or over multiple days?

Preferably, one sitting. I read pretty quickly so I like to just be able to read it all at once.

20. Who do you tag?

Anyone and everyone!
